Swarna Karpagavalli S., M.Sc., B.Ed., has had a distinguished teaching career spanning over two decades across reputed CBSE schools in Chennai. Before her association with DAV in 2011, she has been involved in compiling middle school computer science books and helped her students excel in Class XII board exams. In 1998, she received the “Outstanding Teacher” award. At DAV, she has held many roles as that of a teacher, headmistress and has co-authored EVS books for the in-house publication division before taking up the role of the Principal. A rank holder at both graduate and post-graduate levels, she believes academic success is driven by motivation, focus and self-discipline and finds it most meaningful when it is complimented with good values and a nationalistic spirit, as she firmly believes that ‘Direction is more important than speed’.
